Apple Has Finally Retired The Famous MacBook Air Wedge-Shape After 14 Years

MacBook has kept its famous wedge-shaped design for a long time. But finally, they decided to change this design. They replaced this with a square-sided M3 model. In 1991 apple changed all laptop designs, and after that, every new version copied that style. They move the keyboard from the front to the back. Then the space turned to palm rest. This seemed like a good design. After 2008 they introduced another new design to customers. It is a wedge shape.

They are not the first ones who introduced this new design to their laptops. When they introduced the Sony laptop also followed this design. They have 1.20 inches at the back and 0.8 inches at the front. They introduced the new MacBook Air with 0.76 in the back.

Since the start, the MacBook has been criticized for its shape and reduced ventilation process. But Steve gives the envelop word to the user’s mind. He slipped a MacBook Air from an inter-office envelope.

At that time the 2008 MacBook Air sold for $1,799, but today it is equivalent to $2,577. New MacBook M3 started at $1,099. In 2008 the New York Times admired the design of MacBook Air. They said ‘When it is on the table, users might be mistaken the placement is wrong.’ They also said that the aluminum skin and smooth edges make the users satisfied to hold and carry.

In 2009 Apple refreshed the MacBook design and upgraded the processor and graphic options. In 2010 Apple introduced the 11-inch version to users.

The wedge shape made the typing process more comfortable and easier. With this user don’t want to raise their wrists to type, they can use it while their palms rest flat on the surface. But it reduces the space for the cooling air. With the years the MacBook Air got faster. But the envelope design makes it underpowered.

With the new M3 MacBook design they removed the wedge and made all the differences. With this, the ventilation was increased, and the device could run faster. This is good for users. But the sad part is that the adored wedge shape has gone.
