Design and Hardware
They make this new watch in two sizes. 41mm and 45mm are those sizes. This can be perfectly suited for your wrist. There is an aluminium and stainless-steel version. There is also a band bundle; you can buy any of this as you wish. The weight of the 41mm size one is 42.3g and the 45mm one is 51.5g.
Display and screen quality
When it comes to display, there are some changes you can see. It uses some brighter adjusting conditions than the previous style, and because of that, you can read the screen. It uses low brightness most of the time, and because of that, you can use the watch without distracting other people around you.
When it comes to the screen, in most aspects, it is the same as the previous Apple Watch series 8. But if you are one who tries to upgrade the Apple watch from some older version or try to buy your first Apple watch, this doesn’t matter. The 45mm watch has a 1.9-inch screen with a 484*396 display, and the 41mm edition has a 430*352 display with a 1.69-inch screen. Both screens are very colourful and sharp. There is no pixelation at all. You can see two controls in the body. There is a dial on the right side and a button below that. The button is like an invisible one, you can barely see that.
When it comes to brightness, as I mentioned before, it can be changed. It has 2,000 nits, and with that, you can see clearly even when you are outside. Also, this can be minimal even in 1 nit. It means you can see the watch without disturbing anyone.
Hardware
This Apple watch series 9 used a S9 SiP. It is better than the S8 series chip. There is a new 4-core NPU and 30% faster GPU than the S8 series. The dual-core CPU has 5.6 billion transistors. As Apple announced, it gives 18 hours of battery life. The battery is a Li-Ion non-user replaceable one. The RAM space is 1GB, and it has watchOS 10. x.
New Siri Upgrades
When it comes to the Apple watch you can see that Siri interacts with you through the watch is very low. But in this Apple Watch Series 9, Siri works really well. It gives quick requests compared to other watch series. It allows you to proceed with requests on the device. In previous cases, the requests were going to the cloud and came back. But here, they don’t do that. Apple says that there is 25% voice dictation. Siri can now access your health details. With that, you can easily check up on your health.
Double tap gesture
With this, they make the new watch a hand-free one. You can also see this feature in Apple Watch Ultra 2. This gives you access to control your watch with a double tap. Basically, they talk about the thumb and the forefinger. This is not a rule. It also works with your thumb and other fingers. This works with advanced sensors. It gets the changes in the blood flow and wrist movements. Depending on that, it makes decisions. This allows you to pick up or hang up calls easily. And it gives access to play music, snooze alarms, and scroll through widgets.
Health features
This Apple watch has sensors to know the blood oxygen, heartbeat, and ECG. The heart sensor helps to understand the irregular rhythm of the heart. Also, there is a sleep tracking, temperature sensing, a compass, an altimeter, a gyroscope, and an ambient light.
Additionally, you can see the Wi-Fi connection. There is also Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC support. You can use eSIM with this watch, and it gives a 4G LTE option.
Software
It uses the Apple WatchOS 10. It gives a new widget setup called Smart Stack. Shows your daily goals like upcoming events and all other things. It also upgrades some apps and their designs. It changes the design of the weather app, world clock, and the main activity app interface. There are also new watch faces.
