Apple iPad mini 7 is the latest iPad series they launched last year. Even though they didn’t change much about the features and design there are some main changes in this new version. Users expect M-series or OLED and 120Hz. But these things didn’t show up in this iPad series.
Design & Features
The main change feature is the color. Besides that, we can’t see any main factor. In the mini 7, we can’t see pink color. Instead of that, they added blue. But the other colors are the same as before. Space grey, purple, and starlight. Also, it has an all-screen display, which means they remove the home button with Touch ID. The bezel is large compared to other iPad versions.
In the design, the USB-C port is on one side and the volume button and top button are on the other side. This version only supports stereo speakers and the grills are cut on all four sides. The rare camera can record 4K and still, it is 12MP. It also has a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and the position is portrait orientation. The display is also the same as before. The display peaks with SDR content at 500 nits because of that it is a bit dim.
As many of the users expected they didn’t jump to the OLED display. Instead of that they stuck with the old one and did something to reduce the effect.
A17 Pro
First time Apple introduced the A17 chipset with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is currently the only chipset capable of running the Apple Intelligence features. It can enhance AI, graphics processing, and gaming. And with that users can play high-quality games on iPad mini 7.
Many users are still not satisfied with this. But if they use another powerful M series chip there might be thermal issues. Also, the A17 chipset is the first chipset to support the AV1 format in YouTube and Netflix. It helps to reduce battery-draining and gives a smooth video streaming.
The storage is 128 GB and also 256 GB and 512 GB options. There are no physical SIM slots only eSIM facilities. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 are available.
Apple Intelligence
The iPad mini 7 is the first one that supports AI and Apple Intelligence. The primary AI feature is Image Wand. And the other small features are still the same. We can expect the remaining huge features this year.
iPadOS
It has the same iPadOS. It is iPadOS 18. But it doesn’t get a storage manager. This means no external display either. The A17 Pro works well with the iPadOS 18.
Other Features
The iPad mini 7 has lots of padding with the iPadOS it has. With that users can see lots of apps in App Library.
This supports Apple Pencil Pro and this is good news for artists who use Apple iPad for artworks. And the size is really cool for hand-holding.
