There is a lawsuit against Apple that was approved in the British Columbia court. This is against Apple’s iPhone throttling. In this class action, they said that Apple’s new software updates slow down some iPhone models. The iPhone 6 and 7 are included in this. But Apple denied this complaint. But they agreed to pay a fine between $11.1 mil and $14.4 mil.

The iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, and iPhone SE models are equipped with the iOS 10.2.1 software or newer versions. And the iPhone 7 and 7Plus have iOS 11.2 or later software. Also, this is before 21.12.2017. The above group is included in this lawsuit, and if this happens, they can hope for a payment between $17.5 and $150. But it is still unclear if this happens to the amount that the lawyers will get.
The class lawyer, Michael Peerless, said the judge was fair with their settlement and proposed Apple did the right thing. Apple says that the settlement doesn’t mean they didn’t accept the fault. Also, in January, Apple started to pay for another lawsuit which was a $500 million settlement. It is a U.S. class action and each team member will get $92 per their claim.
