With the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, Apple introduced some AI features to its customers. This new AI package is called under the name Apple Intelligence. However, only those who live in the US can access these features because they are currently available in beta to developers in the US. How does someone who is living outside the US get access to these features? It is not a hard task, you can get these features easily except for those who live in the EU and China. At this time Apple Intelligence only works with US English. That is the main reason they limited these features to the US. But if you are ok with that and you have capable devices you can use it.
Device Compatibility
Apple Intelligence covers a range of features that require lots of device power. Among these features, you can see generating images, summarizing text and documents, automating access, and many more. In order to run this Apple Intelligence you need iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max. If you use iPad you want an iPad powered by an M1 chip or later silicon processors.
- Install Beta Software
- After looking for the compatibility the next step is to download the beta developer software to our device. Before downloading the Developer beta make a backup of your device.
- To do the installation, first open Safari on your device and go to the developer.apple.com website.
- Then open the menu icon and go to the Account. The menu is visible in the top-left corner.
- You can see a window with the Sign in to Apple Developer title. Here add your Apple ID and Password. Then you will get a 2FA code. Add it.
- Again go to the Account and accept the legal terms of the Apple Developer Agreement. You can see a check box at the bottom of the scrolling and check it. After tapping on I agree.
- Check your iPhone iOS version. If it is 17.5 or the latest one restart your iPhone. If not go to the settings, install the latest update, and restart the phone.
- Then go to the settings and general. Navigate to the software update. Tap on Beta updates.
- Choose iOS 18 Developer Beta. Then go back.
- When the software update appears, tap on download and install. Then do the instructions and wait till the install complete.
After installing the Beta developer software follow the below steps for Apple Intelligence.
- Go to the settings app and navigate to the General and Language & Region.
- Here tap on Add Language. Choose the English (US).
- Back to the main Settings menu and tap on Apple Intelligence & Siri.
- After that tap on Language and choose English (US).
- Now you can join the Apple Intelligence waitlist. In most cases, this is accepted within a few minutes. To do this under Apple Intelligence tap on Join Waitlist.
- After the acceptance, you can see Turn on Apple Intelligence. Tap on it and a welcome message will appear on your screen.
